The macrophages they activate are the immune system's 1st line of defense against viral, fungal, bacterial, parasitic infection and cancer.
    • Research papers confirm the immune activating ability of Beta glucan along with its cholesterol lowing abilities.
    • Beta Glucan is the only glucan found effective in preventing coronary artery disease by significantly lowering LDL (bad) cholesterol and increasing HDL (good) cholesterol levels.

Protection from Free Radicals

  • Nutritional yeast contains glutathione and 30% of the recommended daily dose of selenium.
    • These form glutathione peroxidase - A much needed Antioxidant that protects us from free radicals.
  • Nutritional yeast is one of the better sources of nucleotides - Known for their anti-aging properties.
    • DNA is known as the genetic blueprint for life of all organisms.
      • RNA carries the DNA instructions to all the cells.
      • The building blocks of DNA and RNA are called nucleotides.

Foods that contain nucleotides

Good Sources

The best nutritional yeast are grown on cane and beet molasses, and fermented. Then the yeast is held at pasteurization temperatures just long enough to deactivate the yeast. A good product will have B12 added after this process. (Yeast does not produce B12. B12 naturally produced by bacteria. A good nutritional yeast will have this added)
