Editing Energy Bites
These energy bites pack a punch! I had one of these just before a resistance training session one day. I was suprised that I had more energy than the days I was using commercial pre-workouts. Works best for exercises lasting 1 hour or less. Also goes well with a sports drink (Taken mid-workout), though I've done plenty of workouts with just these bites. Perect for quick energy, so take right before.
Makes 8 Bites
- 5 Dates (Make sure they're pitted)
- 2 Tbsp Coconut Oil
- 2 Tsp Lemon Zest
- 1 Tsp Lemon Juice
- Sea Salt to taste
- 2 Tsp Yerba Mate (Optional-For additional Punch)
Put all ingredients into a food processor, and blend until smooth.
Form into 1/2 inch thick rectangle then divide into 8 peices. Store in fridge (2 Weeks) or freezer (3 Months).
Planning ahead make this a sinch. I typically make these at the same time I'm making energy bars.
